We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Environmental Officer to join an ultra-luxury ocean-going yacht end of April/Beginning of May 2026 . This pivotal role ensures full environmental compliance with international maritime regulations and company standards, while seamlessly supporting an exceptional guest experience.

You will lead environmental initiatives onboard, deliver crew training, oversee compliance processes, and act as the key liaison between ship and shore for all environmental matters. This is a unique opportunity for a sustainability-focused professional to operate at the highest standards of maritime luxury.

Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Compliance & Operations
  • Oversee and ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, including SOLAS, Flag State, Port State, and Classification Society requirements
  • Maintain and verify all environmental records, logs, and documentation
  • Conduct routine inspections across all operational areas (engine room, waste handling, food prep areas)
  • Ensure proper segregation and management of all waste streams (liquid and solid)
  • Training & Leadership
  • Deliver environmental training to all crew members and new Environmental Officers
  • Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and compliance onboard
  • Reporting & Audits
  • Prepare and submit environmental performance reports to onboard leadership and shore-side teams
  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring readiness and corrective action implementation
  • Incident & Waste Management
  • Manage and report environmental incidents in line with regulatory requirements
  • Oversee waste handling, labeling, and disposal, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Guest Experience
  • Ensure environmental practices enhance—not compromise—the luxury guest experience
  • Professionally handle guest inquiries related to sustainability and environmental practices
  • Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
  • Act as the primary liaison for environmental matters between vessel and shore
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of environmental policies and procedures
