Assistant Food Storekeeper for Azamara Cruises

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Assistant Food Storekeeper on behalf of Azamara Cruises.
The Assistant Food Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining the provision areas in a clean and orderly condition. Support the inventory team to fulfill and complete all initiatives related to loading and storing of inventoried items. 

Key Responsibilities

Each shipboard employee may be required to perform all functions in various service venues and throughout the ship.

• Responsible for assisting in the receiving, storing, and issuing food and beverage related items. 
• Responsible for assisting in maintaining proper inventory rotation techniques by following the FIFO methodology. 
• Follows procedures for disposing of spoiled items and transports to designated collection areas. 
• Operates fork lift and other related equipment used in the provision area as required. 
• Arranges, cleans and sanitizes the storerooms, freezers and provision areas 6. according to USPH standards. Operates cleaning equipment, scrapers, brooms and variety of hand and power tools to maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner and according to USPH standards. 
• Uses a variety of cleaners and chemicals following all proper and safety regulations. Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to MSDS specifications. Mixes water an detergents or acids in container to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications. 
• Maintains cleaning supplies and equipment in good working order. 
• Participates in scheduled physical inventory counts to verify inventory accuracy. 
• Relieves the Storekeeper – F&B as directed by management. 
• Notifies management of the malfunction of lighting, heating and ventilation equipment. 
• Assist the inventory team in the maintenance of all storerooms. 
• Assists the Inventory Manager with assigned duties required by the day-to-day operations of the Inventory Organization. 
• Comply with all corporate standards and procedures as they relate to the entire Azamara fleet. 
• Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.  
• Conducts workstation spot checks to ensure items are correctly stored to minimize deterioration and waste. 

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• Basic schooling. 
• Preferably experience as Food and Beverage storekeeper at reputable hotel, or at comparable firm that stores high volume of merchandise. 
• Preferably computer knowledge; proficient in Microsoft Office applications 
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly, and cordially with guests. 
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.  This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors, and co-workers.  
• Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German is preferred. 
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste and smell.  
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 
• All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. 
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
