Margaritaville at Sea will be launching their new ship, Beachcomber, in January 2027 and we're looking for an amazing, energetic and vibrant cruise and youth staff team to join this dynamic cruise line.
** 6 month contract, shared cabin and $2500 per month **
CRUISE STAFF
Responsibilities
As a Cruise Staff, you are a member of the entertainment team and will be responsible for ensuring guests have a fun, engaging, and memorable vacation. You will host activities, assist with entertainment, and provide outstanding guest service. This role requires high energy, adaptability, and a passion for creating a positive guest experience.
Essential Functions:
• Host and facilitate onboard activities, including games, trivia, karaoke, and themed events.
• Assist in organizing and executing entertainment programs and social gatherings.
• Engage and interact with guests to enhance their onboard experience.
• Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest inquiries and requests.
• Work closely with the Entertainment Director and other departments to coordinate events.
• Support theater productions, deck parties, and other live performances as needed. Ensure the safety and well-being of guests during activities and events.
• Represent the Margaritaville brand with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Qualifications:
• A degree in Performing Arts, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant certifications (e.g. STCW, C1D visa for cruise ship roles) as required.
Experience:
• Minimum of one to two years in entertainment, hospitality, or a similar role in resorts, cruise ships, or recreational facilities.
• Experience as a Master of Ceremonies or entertainer (e.g., theatre, music, dance, comedy).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to instruct or coordinate group activities such as dance, Zumba, fitness classes, or crafting.
• Experience operating spotlight and audio-visual equipment for productions.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency with standard software.
• Outgoing and energetic personality with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to engage and entertain large groups using effective microphone techniques.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Language Requirements:
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and crew.
• Ability to understand instructions given in English during emergency life saving procedures and drills.
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and coworkers.
• Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred.
YOUTH STAFF
Responsibilities
As a Youth Counselor, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, engagement, and supervision of children and teenagers (ages 3-17) participating in the ship’s youth program. This role involves organizing activities, maintaining program supplies, and assisting in overall cruise
staff operations to create a fun and safe environment for young passengers.
Essential Functions:
• Supervise and ensure the safety of children and teens in the youth program.
• Plan and lead engaging activities for different age groups.
• Maintain inventory and manage supplies needed for youth programs.
• Support the Cruise Staff in activities as needed.
• Interact with guests during operational hours while maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Participate in all passenger and crew safety drills
Maintain cleanliness and safety in designated youth program areas.
• Attend departmental meetings and adhere to assigned shipboard drills.
• Contribute ideas to enhance revenue generation and cost efficiency.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications:
• You must obtain a Pre-employment medical exam, STCW certifications and hold a valid C1/D visa and passport.
• CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
• Must pass a background check.
Experience:
• Prior experience working with children and teens in a structured setting.
• Previous experience in hospitality, childcare, or recreational settings is a plus.
