2nd Electro Technical Officer (ETO) – Temporary Contract with Potential for Permanent Placement
Location: Join in Liverpool, UK
Start Date: 20 June
Contract Type: Temporary (20 June – 18 August) with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position
Salary: USD 4,228 per month paid all year
Leave Rotation: 2 Months On / 2 Months Off
We are currently seeking an experienced 2nd Electro Technical Officer (ETO) to join 20 June in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified ETO looking for a temporary assignment with the potential to secure a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chief ETO, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Maintaining and repairing main and auxiliary engine electrical systems, including propulsion, power generation, boilers, and sanitary systems.
Maintaining and supporting engine automation systems.
Conducting routine electrical safety inspections, insulation testing, alarm testing, and standby system checks.
Cleaning and maintaining electrical starter and distribution panels.
Assisting with electrical reporting, maintenance records, and updates to electrical drawings.
Monitoring and reporting electrical spare parts and material consumption.
Participating in engine control room standby duties and on-call rotations for critical systems.
Working collaboratively with technical and non-technical departments while maintaining a professional presence in passenger areas.
Supporting emergency response procedures and being prepared to assume additional ETO responsibilities when required.
Essential Requirements
Candidates must hold:
STCW A-III/6 Electro-Technical Officer Certificate of Competency
High Voltage for Electricians Certificate
Survival Craft and Rescue Boats Certificate
Basic Safety Training (BST)
Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
Valid STCW Seafarer Medical Certificate
Ideal Candidate
You will be a proactive and safety-conscious ETO with strong troubleshooting skills, experience in marine electrical systems, and the ability to work effectively within a multicultural shipboard environment.
