Ship Doctor – Temporary Contract

We are currently seeking an experienced Ship Doctor for a temporary opportunity onboard a cruise vessel.

Contract Details

Start date: 18 August 2026
Embarkation: UK (must have required visa)
Contract length: 18th August- 30th September
Salary: USD $8,023
Leave ratio: every 3 days worked 1 day leave pay will be accumulated 

The Role

Working within the onboard medical department, the Ship Doctor will provide high-quality medical care to both guests and crew, including inpatient and outpatient care, acute emergency treatment and chronic disease management. The role also involves supporting the operation of the medical department, maintaining accurate medical documentation, responding to medical emergencies, and referring patients for shoreside treatment where required.
The successful candidate will also support onboard public health and outbreak-prevention procedures and liaise with Port Health and senior management where necessary.

Essential Requirements

Candidates must hold valid/current:

Ship Doctor Licence, with verification
PALS
ALS
Basic Safety Training
SRB
Yellow Fever certification
Passport
STCW Medical
Hepatitis B certification
CMHB
Criminal Record Check

Candidates should also be committed to maintaining their professional registration and completing mandatory onboard training and continuing medical education.
