Shop Manager on Cruise

Location: On board international cruise ships
Start Date: To be determined (after completing mandatory STCW training)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (5 months +/- 1 month)
Accommodation: Single cabin, full board provided by the company
Gross Monthly Salary: Base: € 2,773 + Bonus: € 1,350
Travel Expenses: Covered by the employer (to and from the vessel)

2. Job Description
Managing the onboard retail team and coordinating the overall operation of the shops and exhibition areas
Achieving sales and service targets, ensuring a high standard of customer experience
Ensuring visual merchandising and marketing standards are upheld
Coordinating loading/unloading operations and stock replenishment
Building strong relationships with guests and collaborating with both onboard and shore-based teams
Leading, training, and developing a multicultural retail team (attendants, specialists, supervisors)
Preparing and submitting sales reports, voyage summaries, and guest feedback analysis
Ensuring compliance with international customs regulations and onboard rules

3. Requirements / The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
Previous experience in a dynamic retail environment and team leadership
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for sales and service
Solid skills in sales techniques and visual merchandising
Strong organizational skills, accountability, and goal orientation
Excellent leadership and multicultural communication abilities
Entrepreneurial spirit with a drive to enhance guest experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
English fluency at B2 level
Proficiency in at least one additional European language (Italian, French, German, or Spanish) at B2 level
Availability to live and work on board a ship for 5 months
Willingness to complete the mandatory STCW safety training (approx. 10 days, in your passport country)

5. Salary / Employment Terms:
Base Gross Salary: €2,773 / month
Monthly Gross Bonus: €1,350
Working Hours: 7 days a week, 8–11 hours daily, split into 2–3 shifts
Contract Duration: 5 months (+/- 1 month)
Mandatory STCW Course: Must be completed before embarkation (cost reimbursed post-contract)
