We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cruise Director to lead and deliver an exceptional onboard entertainment and guest experience aboard a luxury cruise vessel. This position is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of all entertainment, enrichment, and recreational programming while leading a diverse team of professionals.

The successful candidate will be a highly visible ambassador onboard, ensuring memorable guest experiences through engaging activities, outstanding leadership, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

* Lead, inspire, and develop the onboard entertainment team.
* Conduct training, coaching, performance evaluations, and regular team meetings.
* Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative working environment.
* Ensure effective scheduling and compliance with maritime work/rest hour regulations.

Entertainment Operations

* Plan, coordinate, and oversee all onboard entertainment programs, including:

* Production shows
* Daytime and evening activities
* Youth and sports programs
* Themed events and deck parties
* Live music performances
* Enrichment lectures
* Religious services
* Continuously enhance programming based on guest demographics, operational requirements, and guest feedback.
* Adapt schedules and activities to meet changing operational needs.

 Guest Experience

* Maintain a strong presence throughout the vessel and actively engage with guests.
* Host events and make public announcements.
* Monitor guest satisfaction and implement service improvements.
* Resolve guest concerns professionally and efficiently.

 Administration

* Prepare operational and voyage reports.
* Develop activity schedules and event timelines.
* Maintain accurate departmental records, training documentation, and performance evaluations.
* Handle confidential information with professionalism.

Financial & Resource Management

* Assist with departmental budgeting.
* Monitor operating expenses while maintaining service excellence.
* Manage inventories and approve equipment and supply requisitions.
* Minimize waste and ensure proper asset management.

Compliance & Safety

* Ensure compliance with company policies, maritime regulations, and operational standards.
* Maintain high standards of professionalism, punctuality, and appearance.
* Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.
* Conduct regular inspections of entertainment venues and equipment.
* Support onboard safety culture by participating in drills and mandatory training.
* Ensure entertainment equipment is operated safely and maintained in accordance with health, safety, and environmental requirements.

 Qualifications:

* Minimum 5 years' experience in a Cruise Director or similar entertainment leadership role within an international luxury hospitality or cruise environment.
* Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
* Physically and medically fit for shipboard employment.
* Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

* Fluent written and spoken English is essential.
* Additional language skills are highly desirable.

 Technical Skills

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Experience with hospitality property management systems (such as Fidelio) is an advantage.
* Strong computer literacy.

Work Environment

This is a shipboard position requiring flexibility, adaptability, and a high level of guest interaction. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, navigating stairs, lifting or moving equipment up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and working irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

 

Work Experience Requirements

All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
