We are currently seeking an experienced Deck and Engine Storekeeper to join the luxury cruise vessel Orient Express Olympian.
- Embarkation: March 2027
- Contract: 6 months ±1 month
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Fitter on board cruise ships
- All valid STCW certificates
- Good command of English
- Valid references and/or recommendations from previous employers

Description and Main Purpose of Job:
The Storekeeper is responsible for the logistical reception, labelling, and organization of all technical stores, spare parts, and consumables for both the Deck and Engine departments. The role holds primary responsibility for the inventory management and ordering of all shipboard consumables, while providing logistical and database support to Ship Officers for their equipment-specific spare parts, and performing any additional general duties as reasonably required by the Staff Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Logistics & Material Reception: Coordinate the physical receiving of all Deck and Engine technical stores and spare parts during port calls; cross-check delivered items against delivery notes, label them properly, and place them on their dedicated shelves.
Consumables Inventory & Procurement: Hold primary responsibility for the complete inventory control, stock monitoring, and purchase ordering within Shipsure for all vessel consumables across both the Deck and Engine departments (including lubricants/oils, technical gases, chemicals, and PPE).
Spare Parts Logistical Support: Provide support to Officers with inventories or ordering of specific spare parts when requested; acknowledge that primary inventory control, logging consumption in Shipsure, and ordering of spare parts remains the responsibility of the respective officer in charge.
Database & Storeroom Housekeeping: Maintain all technical storerooms, and different lockers for both departments in a clean, highly organized, and sea-fast condition; assist officers in updating or creating new item entries in the Shipsure database when required. Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the safe handling, storage, and strict segregation of hazardous materials (chemicals, gases, lubricants) in compliance with safety and environmental rules and adhere to work and rest hour requirements.

Not interfere with or misuse anything provided for health, safety, or welfare ·
Abide by environmental protection rules and regulations and actively participate in the reduction, reuse, and recycling schemes in place All employees shall participate actively in all HSEQ activities and promote safe practices as part of an integrated management approach.
