Sports Staff

Sports Staff are responsible for delivering an amazing sports programme experience for guests on Royal Caribbean ships.

You’ll be part of an energetic and dynamic team providing opportunities to take part in some of the most thrilling recreational activities on the high seas!

Acting as Master of Ceremonies in Sports Deck activities, you’ll organise and conduct sports tournaments as well as lead and participate in a variety of Sports and Cruise Programme activities such as rock climbing, iFly, Flowrider, basketball and ping-pong, facilitating active sports sessions.

Shore excursions, shows and debarkation duties as assigned by supervisor.

You’ll also hold safety and customer service responsibilities, overseeing the operation of recreational activities including the administration of reports, courses, training activities, complaints and the promotion of the activities available.

Experience

• 1 year of physical fitness and/or sports coaching experience in resorts or sports facilities
• Experience leading recreational sports and activities for large groups and individuals
• Experience delivering exceptional customer service to customers/clients/guests
• Master of Ceremonies experience or childcare experience preferred
• Knowledge of the rules of sports like basketball, volleyball, golf, pickleball, ping-pong, shuffleboard, etc.
• Experience in the operation and maintenance of the Flowrider or other similar water park equipment preferred
• Experience in rock climbing wall instruction

Qualifications

• Sports/Fitness/Health Education Degree or Diploma preferred
• Accredited CPR or first aid qualifications (such as Pediatric First Aid certificate)
• Fluency in English is desirable
• Manual belay certification desired
• Digital skills and experience using software packages such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
