Main Function

  • Casino Dealer is responsible for professionally and accurately conducting casino table games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Three Card Poker and other assigned games in accordance with company procedures and casino standards.
  • Provides a professional, courteous and entertaining experience for Guests while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, game integrity and security.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working as a Casino Dealer in a live casino, either on land or on board a cruise ship.
  • Experience as a Casino Dealer Trainee with strong performance ratings may also be considered.
  • Good knowledge of casino table games, rules and procedures.
  • Ability to handle cards, chips, cash and other gaming equipment accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain the correct pace of the game.
  • Ability to communicate tactfully and professionally with Guests, supervisors and shipboard colleagues.
  • Ability to remain attentive and focused while standing for extended periods of time.
  • Good awareness of Guest behavior and ability to identify and report suspicious or potentially unsafe activity.
  • Clear, confident and courteous spoken English.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to understand procedures and communicate effectively with Guests and colleagues.
  • Additional languages such as Italian, Spanish, French or German are considered an advantage.
  • Basic Safety Training (BST/STCW) and all required certificates and documentation in accordance with vessel requirements.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Conducts Blackjack, Roulette, Ultimate Texas Hold'em, Three Card Poker and other assigned casino table games according to established rules, procedures and company standards.
  2. Provides professional, courteous and attentive service to Guests throughout the game.
  3. Handles cards, chips, money and gaming equipment accurately and maintains the appropriate pace of the game.
  4. Explains game rules and procedures to Guests and provides clear instructions when required.
  5. Maintains constant awareness of the players and the gaming environment to ensure game integrity and Guest safety.
  6. Observes Guest behavior and promptly reports suspicious activity or potential security risks to Casino Management and/or Security.
  7. Participates in casino cash and coin counts as assigned by Casino Management.
  8. Maintains the assigned gaming area, equipment and working environment according to company standards.
  9. Attends all required meetings, training sessions, courses and other work-related activities.
  10. Follows all MSC safety, environmental, security and disciplinary procedures and regulations.
  11. Maintains a professional appearance and wears the prescribed uniform and name badge as required.
  12. Participates in emergency drills and performs all assigned emergency duties in accordance with shipboard procedures.
  13. Performs other casino-related duties as assigned by the Casino Management.
