Assistant A/C Technician – Cruise Vessel

We are looking for an Assistant A/C Technician to join a large cruise ship.

This is an urgent position. Candidates must be available to travel and join the vessel immediately.

About the Vessel

• The vessel is a large passenger cruise ship of approximately:
• 53,000 GT
• 220 metres length
• More than 650 passenger cabins
• The A/C and refrigeration systems support passenger cabins, public areas, restaurants, galleys and technical areas onboard.

Main Duties

• The Assistant A/C Technician will support the A/C and Refrigeration team with:
• Maintenance and repair of air-conditioning systems
• Maintenance of ventilation systems
• Checking and repairing refrigeration equipment
• Maintenance of fan coil units and air handling units
• Working with compressors, pumps and other HVAC equipment
• Cleaning and replacing filters and coils
• Checking temperatures and pressures
• Supporting maintenance of cold rooms and galley refrigeration
• Finding and repairing basic HVAC faults
• Assisting with refrigerant charging and leak checking when qualified

Candidate Requirements

• Candidates should have experience working with:
• Air-conditioning systems
• HVAC systems
• Refrigeration equipment
• Previous experience on a cruise ship, passenger vessel or other commercial vessel would be an advantage.
• Candidates with good experience from hotels, commercial buildings or industrial HVAC/refrigeration may also be considered.
• Candidates must have a valid US C1/D visa and be available for immediate mobilisation.
• An F-Gas, EPA ODS or similar refrigerant-handling certificate would be a strong advantage.
• Relevant valid STCW and seafarer documents will be required.
