Fitter / Welder – Engine Department – Cruise Vessel

We are looking for an experienced Fitter / Welder to join the Engine Department onboard a large cruise ship.

This is an urgent position. Candidates must be available to travel and join the vessel immediately.

About the Vessel

The vessel is a large passenger cruise ship of approximately:
- 53,000 GT
- 220 metres length
- More than 650 passenger cabins

The successful candidate will work as part of the Engine Department, supporting maintenance, repairs and technical work throughout the machinery spaces.

Main Duties

The Fitter / Welder will support the Engine Department with:

- Welding and fabrication work
- Repair and replacement of steel pipework
- Cutting, grinding and fitting of steel
- Repair of machinery foundations and brackets
- General engine-room fabrication work
- Pipe fitting and pipe repairs
- Removal and installation of damaged sections of pipe
- Use of welding, cutting and grinding equipment
- Supporting repairs to machinery and technical equipment
- Carrying out maintenance work safely and to a good standard

Candidate Requirements

Candidates should have good practical experience as a:
- Fitter
- Welder
- Pipe Fitter
- Marine Fitter / Welder

Previous experience working in an engine room onboard cruise ships, passenger vessels, commercial ships or in shipyards would be a strong advantage.

Candidates should have experience with:

- Steel fabrication
- Pipe fitting
- Welding
- Cutting and grinding
- Machinery repairs
- Engine-room maintenance

Marine or shipyard welding qualifications would be beneficial.

Candidates must hold a valid US C1/D visa and be available for immediate mobilisation.

Relevant valid STCW and seafarer documentation will also be required.
