Celebrity Cruises currently requires SOMMELIERS to join our team!

The selected candidate will provide wine service to guests in the restaurant and buffet, ensures that guests are charged for pertinent requests and services and is also in charge of re-stocking the wine cellar.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide wine service to guests in the restaurant and buffet, and in some cases will be responsible for providing bar services other than wine.
  • Reach reasonable sales target set by the company.
  • Work in the station designed by the Head Sommelier.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing the working area and working utensils.
  • Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.

Minimum requirements:

  • Minimum of three years experience in a similar position (shipboard experience preferred), or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Completion of High School.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret documents such as recipes and manuals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commisions, tips, proportions and percentages.
  • Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests.
  • Any additional language such as German, Italian, Spanish, French and Portuguese is welcome.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable.
  • Must meet all physical requirements, including the ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
