Mechanic

The Mechanic is a skilled technical rating responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of mechanical equipment outside of the main propulsion plant. This often includes pumps, compressors, purifiers, ventilation fans, and small engines. They perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliable function of general ship machinery.
