Ordinary Seaman (OS)

The Ordinary Seaman (OS) is an entry-level position within the Deck Department. They perform essential maintenance work, including chipping paint, splicing rope, painting decks, and cleaning, to keep the ship in good condition. Under supervision, an OS assists the Able Seamen with lookout duties, mooring operations, and other basic tasks necessary for the safe and operational running of the vessel, while training to advance their career.
