The Marketing and Revenue Manager role is an onboard position with four months aboard the ship and two months’ vacation. The M&R Manager is responsible for the direction, leadership, and optimization for shipboard revenue operations and initiatives. This individual analyzes financial data, develops tactical plans to address short falls, institutes cross-marketing and sales strategies, and motivates the sales force across all on board departments.

The Marketing and Revenue Manager interacts with guests, revenue partners, and crew members several times throughout each day and must be approachable and professional. The selected candidate will communicate effectively with all departments, and actively participate with the shipboard management in the decision making process and implementation of all issues impacting onboard revenue.

Career snapshot:

  • Responsible for managing all shipboard revenue-generating areas including casino, shore excursions, retail shops, photo, spa, onboard cruise sales, art auction, and port shopping.
  • Analyzes all revenue-generating activities to develop or adjust strategies and tactics for increased guest spending. Tracks performance of plan and reports findings to the management team. Makes recommendations for implementing and/or adjusting plan as needed.
  • Works directly with Cruise Director and Hotel Director to identify optimal scheduling opportunities and locations for revenue generation.
  • Works with shipboard Revenue Partners’ management to ensure that Company standards are continuously met and that each outlet is performing at or above revenue targets.
  • Ensures Safety, Environmental, and other Company policies and standards are consistently maintained.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years in market research, sales analysis or the hospitality industry in a senior-level role (including cruise, travel, hotel, resort, casino, bar or amusement/theme park).
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university, or the international equivalent.
  • Experience leading large teams of 50+ members including senior managers in a positive, professional, inspirational and productive manner.
  • Fluency in English speaking, reading, and writing; ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German preferred.
  • All international applicants must have the ability to obtain C1/D1 visa (and other relevant visas) when applicable.
  • All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Must have ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
