Manages all operational aspects of the Private Destination CocoCay or Labadee to ensure company, divisional and site performance objectives are met or exceeded by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities personally or through subordinate managers/supervisors.

All duties and responsibilities are to be performed in accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s brand standards, SQM standards, USPH guidelines, environment, and safety policies.

In accordance with Royal Caribbean International’s philosophy of Anchored in Excellence, each employee conducts oneself in a professional and courteous manner at all times. This consists of physical and verbal interactions with guests or fellow employees and/or in the presence of guest contact and employee areas.

Career snapshot: 

  • Directs the overall facility function. Oversees the assignment of duties, schedules and workstations. Observes and evaluates employees and work procedures to ensure quality standards, safety and service is met.
  • Plans, coordinates and controls the operation of the Private Destination. Directs the output of all personnel through the management of line managers / supervisors.
  • Recruits, motivates, and develops employees. Maintains effective employee relations.
  • Approves personnel actions such as new hire requests and discharges, to ensure critical staffing. Provides final approval for overtime needs.
  • Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to subordinates to strengthen their current performance and preparation for future advancement within the organization.
  • Implements and maintains the annual operating budget to ensure on an on-going basis optimum total guest satisfaction, expense management and operational efficiencies.
  • Reviews budget reports and explains variances. Identifies areas for improved efficiencies.
  • Monitors cash management programs and purchasing practices including inventories and receivables. Allocates funds, authorizes expenditures, and assists in planning budgets for departments.
  • On a regular basis, meets with subordinate supervisors and staff, to review the requirements of the day"s schedule, including guest requirements.
  • Monitors guests" feedback and comment reports to identify negative trends or areas for improvement. Creates and implements plans to improve overall guest satisfaction ratings.
  • Monitors workstations, work sites and staff for adherence to all related procedures. Enforces and follows standards for food and equipment safety, overall site and facilities safety, environmental, etc., for all assigned areas and related equipment and machinery.
  • Establishes and maintains a prominent level of visibility and involvement throughout the Private Destination and in business, social and governmental communities as appropriate.
  • Attends meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required. Where appropriate, initiates meetings to address and resolve quality concerns and to continuously identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensures the security and safety of guests and employees through established emergency procedures.
