Hotel Manager

The Hotel Manager supervises all hotel operations on board the ship, train and manage the hotel staff. Direct contact with passengers requires courteous and accommodating behavior. The Hotel Manager will ensure that the high standards of the guests are met, reflecting the company's professionalism and service. In addition, the Hotel Manager will be responsible for fiscal management of the he hotel operations and communicate with the Captain all problems that concerns.

Essential Duties:

• Reports all safety matters to the Master/Captain
• Works with the Purser on all disciplinary matter regarding onboard staff, guest accounts, staff accident/ incidents, and all other administrative matter for the Hotel department.
• Maintain and close and cooperative relationship with the Master, Purser and Assistant Purser
• Responsible for the performance of the Galley, Dining room, bars, open decks, housekeeping, pursers department, crew/public areas, onboard purchasing, ordering and storage on the vessel
• Coordinate the work of various departments to achieve a smooth day to day operation
• Maintains the high standard of quality set by the Company and continuous control on its performance
• Ensure that the quality expectation of passengers and standards set by the Company are fulfilled
• Conduct daily inspections within the Captain and Chief Engineer to review the on-board operation
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing/hiring, onboarding and training of the vessel staff
• Ensure that permanent training sessions for the “on-the-job training” for all service personnel are held.
• Holds periodical meetings with the Department heads to review the onboard activities and the standards of quality
• Fosters a good working relationship, a spirit of teamwork and is consistent and fair in treatment to the subordinate staff
• Responsible for the coordination in scheduling all on board crewmembers
• Meeting and greeting all passengers and guest
• Ensure all on board events/ entertainment runs smoothly
• Address and handle all passenger issues, complaints or dissatisfaction as they arise and resolve/problem-solve the    issue in a timely manner
• Managing budgets and financial plans, in addition to planning controlling expenditure
• Complete training and show proficiency in Life Safety issues aboard the vessel, including fire containment and fire-watch, man over-board drills and procedures, abandon ship drills and procedures, basic CPR and basic First Aid, Serve Safe and Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS).
• All other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent is required;
• Bachelor degree in Hotel Restaurant & Tourism, Business Administration or closely related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in luxury hotel or cruise ship industry
• Previous experience managing and training staff
• Fluent in English, bi lingual is a plus

Other:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
• Staff will work and live on the vessel in close proximity to co-workers; co-ed living quarters
• Required to submit to and pass DOT drug & alcohol test in accordance to the US Coast Guard; including pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion, post-accident/incident testing
• Required to submit and pass a DOT Physical test, including pre-employment, post-accident/incident testing and annually.
• Required to submit to and pass a background check both pre-employment and annually
• Must be able to perform emergency duties while onboard the vessel.
