Position Summary:
Revenue Management is responsible for both strategic and tactical initiatives related to revenue maximization. As a member of the Revenue Management Department, you will have the opportunity to set strategic direction, determine pricing, create promotions, and explore new distribution opportunities. You will own the implementation of a business plan and product strategy. You will have exposure to senior management and work closely with Sales, Marketing, Trade Support and Services and Reservations.
Career Snapshot:
- Responsible for decisions that drive in excess of $100M in annual net ticket revenue.
- Perform analysis and interpret data to make decisions on pricing and inventory availability that are in line with the business plan.
- Monitor reporting and analyze large volumes of data in order to identify micro-economic trends and develop action plans in response to changes for assigned inventory.
- Work with a team to develop and communicate a strategic business plan for each product you are assigned; including analysis and interpretation of data to assist in determining strategies on pricing, implementation of promotions, global guest sourcing, currency management and maximization of occupancy.
- Develop strategic and tactical responses to changes in competitive deployment, pricing and strategy.
- Make recommendations for pricing on full ship charters and large contract groups based on analysis of historical and current data and trends.
- Communicate status of current business environment and strategies regarding assigned products to Sales, Marketing, International, and Fleet Operations.
- Plan and coordinate strategies with Sales, Marketing, Trade Support, and Air/Sea in tandem with the Senior Analyst and Manager to improve future revenue performance.
- Maintain, optimize and create analytical tools, including understanding of demand trends and booking curves by key segments, finding efficiencies and identifying opportunities for process improvement
- Responsible for execution of management of inventory supply in response to market demand to achieve forecasted revenue and maximize volume.
- Maintain pricing based on current market and economic conditions for each sailing, category, passenger type and relevant currency in the assigned product and ship portfolio.
- Review trends in the broader industry.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university required with focus in quantitative discipline preferred.
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of revenue management concepts and tools and demonstrate understanding of basic economics.
- Strong Excel, Power point and Hyperion skills, and basic Colonial/AS400.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities at once, with minimal supervision within a team-based environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver high quality, clear and concise presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data, make decisions and recommendations and independently implement decisions.
- Project management experience
- Ability to collect, analyze and interpret revenue performance data
- Strong attention to detail
Preferences:
- Masters of Business Administration (MBA) or Master's degree (MA) preferred with focus on Business or Economics
- Two to four years related experience in financial / business analysis or related field
- Previous experience in implementing system enhancements and decision making tools
- Knowledge of reservations system and revenue management data
