Position Summary:

This position manages a Sales team of 8 focused on Groups Shore Excursions and Private Arrangements sales which represents approximately $12-20M in gross revenue and is poised to grow dramatically year on year. This position is responsible for managing and enhancing the Groups and Private Arrangements program to maximize full revenue potential, guest satisfaction and repeat business. This position identifies and implements opportunities for growth.

Career Snapshot:

• Develops strategic vision for growing Groups and Private Arrangements business in coordination with Director and VP. Identifies opportunities to improve and grow revenue and works with the appropriate departments, including Sales, Legal, International and Groups to implement. This includes incentive programs for travel partners.
• Drives team performance by providing leadership that results in achieving Sales goals and outstanding Customer Service.
• Provides performance guidance and actionable feedback to Sales team to enhance individual and team sales results as well as professional development.
• Promotes groups program internally and externally through creation and distribution of marketing collateral, communication with Sales, Marketing, international offices, and Groups, and active marketing to incentive houses, large groups and charter clients. Participates in sales meetings, events and roadshows to represent the department and network with key travel partners.
• Develops and implements training program for internal departments such as Customer Service, Charters & Incentives teams, Reservations, Consumer Outreach, and Groups to ensure consistent message to potential customers and to increase awareness of program.
• Develops policies and procedures for handling groups business to ensure consistent financial results, customer service and prompt responsiveness.
• Works with Account Managers and Tour Operators to develop customized Groups tour programs that can be actively promoted and used to fulfill customer requests promptly.
• Develops and provides monthly reporting on groups and Private Arrangements sales and shares with Director, VP and team.

Required:

• Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
• 5-7 years tam Sales experience in cruise line, tour operator, travel industry or related business.
• 2-3 years proven experience in managing and motivating sales teams.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in Shore Excursions or Groups sales desired
• Working knowledge of ASR and AS400 Group and Individual Reservations system.
• Working knowledge of personal computers with associated financial software and communication packages.
