Ship Superintendent

A leading cruise company in mainland Europe are looking for a Ship Superintendent to join their team. The position is based in Italy, and offers excellent career prospects for the right candidate.

As Ship Superintendent you will report directly to the Fleet Maintenance manager, you will be responsible for two vessels and ensure that their technical operations are maintained.

Key responsibilities of the role include budgeting, ensuring that vessels adhere to class and flag requirements and planning Dry Dockings. It will be your responsibility to ensure that work is completed on time, within budget and kept to company standards. During Dry Dockings you will represent the company and supervise, and be responsible for, all work performed under your remit.
The position will involve travel, as technical inspections of vessels ,and vessel visits, are of great importance.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Shore based experience as technical superintendent/experience in a shipyard
• A marine engineering background (preferably sailing as Chief engineer)
• A degree in marine engineering/ other technical degree
• Fluent English language skills (additional language skills would be an advantage)
• Significant management/leadership skills
• Strong organisation, delegation and interpersonal skills
• Strong budgeting experience
