Position Summary:

Major responsibilities will include initiating and managing [ASR] systems enhancements and improvements. The systems manager is also responsible for developing and deploying the departmental technology strategic and tactical plan and leveraging technology to identify and implement process efficiencies.

Career Snapshot:

  • Proactively identifies, develops and drives strategies and initiatives that will improve functionality within ASR and future applications
  • Works with IT, marketing and other stakeholders to establish the strategic technology direction for GTO where applicable
  • Creates strategic technology plans
  • Creates and maintains business plans as required for functionality improvement
  • Create and maintain business requirements for the current sales systems and/or all applications
  • Monitors departments technology and systems goals, metrics and KPI's and presents results in management meetings
  • Understands and uses system solutions to drive department efficiencies and improve competitive advantage
  • Provides insight on the current functionality of the systems and applications used by the department
  • Leads the development of systemized and standardized reporting requirements in collaboration with department stakeholders
  • Identifies and recommends required system enhancements in collaboration with IT and other stakeholders ensures smooth implementation of new applications and enhancements
  • Leads systems initiatives and acts as project manager for projects related to current and sale systems enhancements, reporting, API and vendor connectivity
  • Responsible for approving and administering IT project system requirements
  • Ensures that all systems are performing efficiently
  • Reports performance issues to the appropriate party and collaborates on performance solutions
  • Provide training documents for shipboard and shoreside as needed
  • Leads weekly and monthly status and business updates with IT and other technology stakeholders
  • The System Analyst is responsible for budgets, variance analysis, ad hoc projects, daily systems management, migrations, user acceptability testing for shoreside & shipboard, and Hyperion reporting
  • Required to participate in an (on-call) duty rotation and may be required to be available on weekends, after hours, and on short notice, as needed

Requirements:

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in cruise line or travel related business with an emphasis in worldwide shore excursion operations required
  • Prior experience in Shore Excursions department preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality and/or Business Management or related field preferred
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate with all levels of employees and management, both shipboard and shoreside
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment with multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to develop strategic plans and communicate with an executive level audience
  • Judgment and analytical skills to make decisions based on circumstances
  • Working knowledge of ASR and AS400 Group and Individual Reservations system
  • Working knowledge of personal computers with associated financial software and communication packages
  • May be required to travel 20% of time for site inspections, ship visits, training, conventions, etc.
