Position Summary:

This role will be responsible for profitable Shore Excursion revenue generation from Charters & Large Groups for the Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Azamara brands. This Sales Manager will work closely with the Charter, Meetings, Incentives & Field Sales teams to promote the benefits of RCCL sponsored excursions to prospective clients. It will be the responsibility of this Sales Manager to facilitate all sales and marketing efforts directly with clients, in collaboration with the appropriate sales channel. The Sales Manager will also coordinate with regional Shore Excursion Product Managers and tour operators to develop products tailored to fit client needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages shore excursion sales execution for charters & large group business (large groups defined as 100 cabins or more)
  • Continuously seek out new opportunities to expand this sector of the cruise business to produce both participation and revenue goals
  • Manage a team of Sales Specialists that create, coordinate and support large group and charter shore excursion business
  • Establish business relationships both internally with tri-branded field sales teams and CMI sales teams, as well as externally with travel agencies, incentive houses and direct clients to create lucrative business opportunities from these accounts
  • Work closely with local tour operators to develop excursion portfolios specific to the clients' requirements and negotiate profitable pricing structures
  • Collaborate with the Sales departments during both prospective and contracting phases to maximize business opportunities while protecting company interests
  • Work with Revenue Management teams to develop strategic and tactical sales initiatives for cruise tours
  • Maintains all records and correspondence for all charters and large groups in Salesforce.com
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting of large group and charter sales progress on a monthly basis
  • Coordinate communication of sales goals and initiatives to piers and upper management
  • Monitors competitive cruise line policies/pricing in order to be the expert in the large group and charter excursions arena
  • Manage large group and charter shore excursions training material for all field sales and distribution channels.
  • Coordinate with the Global Tour Operations marketing team to manage all branded marketing material specific to large group and charters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year university, MBA strong preferred
  • 5 years of outside sales experience, previous cruise line or travel industry experience preferred
  • 2 years managing a team of sales specialists
  • Ability to travel 10-20%
  • Past experience coordinating group tours and/or events preferred
  • Proven success and skill in negotiating and closing business with top producing accounts, both direct and through distribution sales 
  • Ability to use multiple communication and interaction methods to collaborate effectively
