ACTIVITIES STAFF

Hosts and participates in shipboard recreational, entertainment and social programs geared towards adults and families. Serves as master of ceremonies to motivate, inform and entertain small and large groups of guests.

Job description

• Continual interaction with guests; coordinates, hosts, and participates in all adult recreational activities.
• Participates in guest embarkation and debarkation.
• Socializes with guests in public areas at all times. Visits lounges at various times and converses with as many guests as possible as time allows.
• Attends door greets, welcome guests entering and exiting the theatre for evening shows and socializing with the guests.
• Directs guests on and off the gangways of the ship during visits to ports of call. Coordinates tour counts and tour departures.
• Escorts shore excursions with guests when necessary to ensure company standards are met. Utilizes time to socialize with guests and is available for guest assistance.
• Assists in the coordination and operation of audio and/or visual equipment for events as needed in support of the Sound & Light Staff.
• Participates in shows and events presented by the Cruise Director’s Division such as Welcome Aboard Show, Farewell Show, Lip-Synch Show, etc. Cruise Director will advise of responsibilities.
• Attends mandatory crew and guest safety drills as required.
• Knows, follows and enforces all company policies as outlined in Letters of Procedure.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the Cruise Director or Assistant Cruise Director.
• Complies with all Bingo procedures; inventory, promotion, selling of cards, hosting, verifying and assistance with end of cruise paperwork upon request by the Cruise Director or Asst. Cruise Director.
• Assists in all capacities in achieving an increase in revenue in his/her related areas as requested by the Cruise Director or Asst. Cruise Director.

Hiring Requirements:

• One to two years master of ceremonies or professional entertainment (theatre, music, dance, comedy, etc.) experience with resorts, cruise lines, entertainment or recreational industries preferred.
• Ability to capture and manage the attention of a large group of people with microphone effective and courteous microphone techniques.
• Ability to provide basic instruction to a large group of people.
• Ability to utilize customer service skills by exercising authority and discretion
