Head of Housekeeping (m/f) - German Speaking

As Head of Housekeeping on board a German speaking River Cruise Ship sailing along the European Rivers you are responsible for the overall cleanliness of all the rooms and public areas, offices, staff and crew facilities. You motivate, train and supervise the entire  housekeeping department by assigning duties, inspecting work and investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service and  equipment and takes action on demands. You provide guidance towards meeting the sanitary standards.

Fluent German speaking language skills are necessary  

Tasks/Responsibilities

• You Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of each room occupied and non-occupied, common public areas and stewardess station
• You Prepare the room beddings, arranging it and fix it promptly
• You Distribute from housekeeping to cabins all guests amenities such as chocolates, parcels, blowers, gifts, paperwork etc. as directed by the Housekeeping
• You Keep always into consideration the hygiene standards such as working with gloves at all times
• You Communicatewith customers about their demands and orders according to their rooms or things that they need
• You Assist with loading of luggage as directed and Greeting the guests on arrival and departure
• Work as a team
• You Liaise with reception services to coordinate the allocation of accommodation of guests and crew
• You Inspect the accommodation to ensure that hygiene and health and safety regulations are met
• You Train staff to ensure that the organization’s high standards are maintained
• You are responsible for the Inventory of the Housekeeping Department
• You arrangelaundry and linen supplies
• You follow Sanitation and Hygiene standards and train housekeeping staff 

Requirements

• At least three years of Cruise Ship experience                                                                             
• Fluent German Speaking
• Excellent leadership, communication skills and interpersonal skills
• A flexible and motivated team player
• Friendly appearance
