Bar Manager, P&O Cruises Australia

We are now searching for an experienced Bar Manager. Our Bar Managers are responsible for driving sales and service throughout all the bars and beverage outlets on board while maintaining high standards of presentation, service, health and safety.

The Bar Manager is also responsible for up to 70 staff members and ensuring hours and staffing levels are forecast correctly across all public lounge rooms, dining rooms, open deck areas and more.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Coordinate the entire operation of up to 9 bars
• Manage and drive all revenue across all beverage outlets on board
• Oversee all inventory and quality control for all alcoholic beverages
• Providing training and development as well as performance management when required
• Lead, motivate, and inspire the team to deliver exceptional customer service

We seek applications from people with:

• Experience in a multi-site role managing high volume bars and restaurants
• A great command of the English language both written and spoken
• Very strong management and leadership skills with the ability to form relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
• An in-depth knowledge and understanding of work place health and safety
• Cruise ship experience in a similar role would be highly preferred but not essential

Our successful candidate must be able to pass a medical clearance, possess a current unrestricted passport (valid for at least a year) and be eligible to apply for an Australian Maritime Crew Visa (MCV) and Electronic Travel Authority (ETA).

Contracts are for four months duration with two months leave in between assignments. The salary is competitive and accommodation, main meals, flights, transfers and a uniform are all supplied by the company.
