I am recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join a busy Marine Personnel Team shore based in England, that provide a professional HR service to the Marine Personnel Department, Officers’ and Crew on board their fleet of cruise ships.

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Resources, the Marine Personnel Manager will:

• provide strategic support to the development and management of the Marine Personnel function
• provide operational advice, support and coaching as required to ship based managers and crew, and the marine personnel   department
• provide assistance to the shore based managers throughout the ship based employee life cycle from recruitment through to   termination, and
• make regular trips to the vessel to provide a personal, visible service on board

We are looking for a motivated, committed and organised individual with a background of working in the marine industry at officer level on board, with a focus on Deck and Engine work areas.

You should be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of STCW certification, licensing for Deck and Engine personnel.
You should have extensive knowledge of relevant marine employment legislation as per Bahamas Flagstate and MLC 2006 requirements, including experience of working with CAB’s within a unionised environment.
You may also have held / or currently hold a ships masters certificate.
You will be an excellent communicator, a team player and able to build effective working relationships with people at all levels, including maintaining relationships with all hiring partners.
