An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Naval Architect of proven ability within the field of structural calculations and design to join the consultancy team within a leading Maritime Engineering Consultancy.

My client is a well established Ship Design Consultancy and the successful Naval Architect will have an existing work load to include a diverse range of projects collaborating with other members of the team. Exposure to working within a consultancy, classification society or for an operator is desirable.

This structural Engineers opportunity includes extensive interaction with clients and third parties.

The position will typically entail the following tasks:

  • Concept Design, detail design & production design 
  • Leading a team of Naval Architects
  • Working closely with Shipyards, classification societies and owners teams 
  • This Role will focus on Structural aspect of ship design and engineering analyses

Tasks will be carried out using a selection of software such as Strand7 FEA software, AutoCAD or MicroStation CAD software, AutoShip Naval Architectural software and Microsoft Office for general duties. Training (both in-house and external will be provided where required.)
Any Naval Architect with broad proven ability spanning Offshore, Marine and Shipbuilding markets should apply now.

This position is based in the central belt region of Scotland and will include national and international travel on occasion.
