ROLE DESCRIPTION – ENTERTAINMENT HOST

Reporting to Senior Entertainment Host
Responsible for Light Entertainment

General Standard ship rules, regulations and personnel issues must be adhered to as outlined in the handbook. All duties must be carried out in accordance with ships rules, health and safety guidelines, the national laws of countries visited and without discrimination to staff, crew or passengers regarding race, nationality, gender, religion, age, sexuality or disability. You must also take part in fire and lifeboat drills as directed.

Role Overview

The role of the Entertainment Host is to present and be involved in all aspects of the light entertainment programme. You will work closely with the Senior Entertainment Host to present and be the face of daytime activities, demonstrations, sports and evening quizzes and gameshows.

Specific Responsibilities

• Take part in all aspects of daytime and evening light entertainment activities, to ensure a high quality cruise experience. Areas of responsibility include daytime and evening sports and activities, games, quizzes, demonstrations, gameshows, dancing, library facilities, dis/embarkation procedures and shore excursion procedures
• Assist the Senior Entertainment host in the scheduling of light entertainment activities, taking full account of passenger profiles, nationalities and ages
• Deliver a full range of daytime and evening duties as directed by the Senior Entertainment Host
• Host and present daytime quizzes and activities
• Host and present early evening Multi Media Challenges, Nice and Easy’s and main gameshows.
• Take an active role in sail-away and deck parties
• Actively socialise with passengers and facilitate a fantastic holiday experience
• Ensure the correct usage and storage of light entertainment resources, reporting any faults, damage and/or replacement requirements to the Senior Entertainment Host
