This is a brilliant opportunity for an Experienced Engineer to take the next step in their career. This one-of-a-kind position is based in the Middle East where your previous experience will be used to streamline and optimise the Safety and Security of a fleet of large private yachts. A generous salary plus accommodation will be provided together with a car as you will be expected to make regular visits to the yachts.

The successful candidate will preferably have prior Superyacht experience and advanced knowledge of all systems on board: engines, generators, fuel polishing, water makers, electrical, refrigeration, air conditioning, computers, and hydraulics sanitation.

You will be required to carry out supervisory tasks as part of a team of consultants for the Department of Technical Affairs, to provide consultancy services when required for the operational plans and maintenance plans for a large fleet of Superyachts. You will coordinate and supervise refit schedules, technical surveys and regular maintenance for the whole units of the fleet.

In emergency cases and if required, you may need to step in and act as Engineer onboard on occasion.

Qualifications and experience we are seeking:

  • Chief Engineer Y1 “Large Yacht Endorsement”
  • Helm Management/Operation
  • AEC or MEOL
  • STCW Basic Training (all components valid)
  • Valid ENG1/Seafarers Medical Certificate
  • Proficiency in Security Awareness/Designated Security Duties
  • Good practical skills – this is a ‘hands on’ role
  • Marine Diesel Engineering experience
  • Good AV/IT knowledge
  • Well-presented and articulate
  • Fit and energetic non-smoker, with no visible tattoos

Salary: EUR 10,000-12,000 based on qualifications and experience
Leave: 45 days per year with 1 economy return per annum to home country with annual flight tickets for spouse and three children under 18 years on condition that member of family permanently resides with employee in Doha.
Accommodation: Fully furnished deluxe accommodation, single 1 bedroom apartment, family 2 bedroom apartment.
Car: Provided, including fuel
Medical: Full health insurance, spouse and children under 21 entitled to health insurance on condition that member of family permanently resides with employee in Doha.
Education allowance: Employee is entitled to education allowance for up to three children, depending on conditions.
