Assistant Retail Manager
Location: At Sea
Salary: $1600 basic (potential to earn $4000-$6000)
Hours: 6-7month contract (Hours are variable)
Reporting to: District Manager-Operations
Further Details: We are currently looking for a highly motivated, experienced and passionate Assistant Retail Manager to join a fantastic team on board some of the world’s finest cruise ships.

What you will be doing:

  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will be responsible for managing the shops aboard a cruise ship, consistent with the short and long term interests of the company, its employees and its customer and ensuring the highest level of customer service possible 
  • You will analyze the KPI’s to find out if any issue in the shop might be affecting the daily sales, and take corrective actions if needed
  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will organize and lead the Daily Meeting with the team, including all the relevant events of the week (sales, promotions, categories, brands, HR, etc.)
  • You will review Sales targets by shop, category and brand, compared to the previous week, month, year and budget
  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will cultivate an excellent relationship with the on board Cruise line management
  • You will ensure that there is a positive and good work ethos in all shops
  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will oversee and evaluate the welfare of the staff during both professional and personal time, while on board and off board. 
  • You will identify and implement necessary trainings within the shops
  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will be responsible for matching of staffing to the customer flow (Shift Planning) and review staff performance and track FTE by department
  • You will conduct performance evaluations and goal assessments
  • As Assistant Retail Manager you will be responsible for achieving sales and margin targets
  • Inventory control, fully accountable for shrinkage
  • You will be responsible for accurate reporting of each voyage sales performance

What you'll need:

  • Ÿ 2 plus years of Retail Management experience.
  • Ÿ Experience of managing a team of 15 plus people.
  • Ÿ High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ÿ Strong PC Skills using Microsoft Applications.
  • Ÿ Ability to work 6-7 months contracts
  • Ÿ Ability to work 7 days a week
  • Ÿ Experience of coaching/training a team.
  • Ÿ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ÿ Ability to lift, pull and push boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store and lockers up to 55lbs.
  • Ÿ Must be proficient in problem solving, managing conflict, building professional relationships and planning and organising.
