Reporting directly to the Head of Hotel Operations the Cruise Logistics Manager ensures the fleet of cruise ships are kept fully provisioned with all relevant Marella Cruises items within policy guidelines and to business standards. The Cruise Logistics Manager will be accountable for all costs in relation to freight and logistics and will support the wider Cruise Operations team to manage all relevant costs in the most effective manner.
As a key member of the Cruise Operations team, the Cruise Logistics Manager has significant voice and email contact with both internal and external suppliers; the Logistics Manager will be expected to build good working relationships with all key stakeholders to deliver a best in class service.
What you will be doing
- Freight Management including:
- Provision and transportation of supplies and support materials such as stationary, entertainment prizes, props, costumes, childcare support materials to the fleet
- Management of ‘Seasonal Freight Windows’ to be sure items are delivered both on time and to the optimum location in the most cost effective manner
- Owner of the relationship with the chosen Freight Management supplier
- Manage costs and budgets for freight and delivery
- Ad hoc logistical support e.g. supporting the wider Cruise Team with deliveries to the fleet
- Working with the relevant departments to manage Marella logistics and the related costs for key projects within Cruise g. ship launches
- Working with the Marketing, Destination Services and the Onboard teams to monitor and manage ship board inventories for print and other Marella branded items and raising orders in line with this
- Financial reconciliation and management of Cruise Operations and Logistics costs including:
- Raising POs
- Reviewing and coding invoices
- Supplier recharges
- Investigating non payments
- Cost tracking and inventories
- Working with the wider Cruise Operations and Finance team on development and improvement of financial processes and procedures in line with Marella onboard Finance Procedures and requirements under Risk and Compliance
- Line management of Cruise Logistics Exec to support the delivery of the Cruise Logistics function
What we are looking for
- Experience of dealing with high volume invoice processing and analytics
- SAP SRM/Process Director system knowledge preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Good problem solving, organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience of working in a customer-facing type role
- Strong organisation and planning skills with ability to prioritise and multi-task in a pressurised environment.
- Good knowledge of IT systems and processes (i.e. reservations/financial)

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
