Pullmantur is currently seeking 2nd Butchers to join our team.

 

The selected candidate will direct and supervises the activities of subordinates on board engaged in the preparation and butchery of all meat and poultry products for passenger and crew feeding.

This position requires availability to work on board during eight months, and after that the candidate will be able to enjoy a minimum two months vacation before the next possible embarkation. Potential candidates must have a minimum of three years experience as a 3rd Butcher onboard a Cruise vessel or in 4 or 5 stars level in a high quantity of food production. Formal Culinary education, Apprenticeship or equivalent with special course or specific training within Butcher areas is also required.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Responsible for directing, supervising and assisting in the preparation of the butchery of all meat and poultry products in accordance with established menus and portion Control guidelines.
  • Directly responsible for implementing and executing food handling and cleaning procedure in accordance with Sanitation standards in the butcher shop.
  • Prepares daily a proper work plan for all employees assigned to his butcher shop in accordance with the planned menu and recipes for the day.
  • Maintains a high level of productivity, cleanliness and sanitation throughout the entire butcher shop area at all times.
  • Works closely and cooperates with superiors, colleagues and subordinates in order to achieve the highest possible passenger satisfaction from the products served.

 

Hiring requirements:

  • Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly.
  • Basic Sanitation and Public Health and HACCP Training Certificate.
  • Ability to accommodate to an eight months on / two months off contract schedule for this onboard position.
  • Ability to adjust to, and to work in a multi national environment.
  • A valid passport (minimum 1 year counting from the embarkation date).
  • A valid Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping (STCW) certificate.
  • Ability to obtain the required visa, depending on the embarkation port.
  • Pass Pullmantur pre-employment medical examination.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Have a Seaman’s book (desirable).
  • Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
