Pullmantur is currently seeking Buffet Decorator to join our team.
The selected candidate preparation and placement of various decoration items and to ensure Buffet areas are good looking and well presented at all times. Decorator will provide his own special tools required for ice carving.
This position requires availability to work on board during eight months, and after that the candidate will be able to enjoy a minimum two months vacation before the next possible embarkation.
Potential candidates must have a minimum of 2 years experience as Buffet Decorator or Kitchen Artist onboard Cruise Ships or in 4 to 5 star hotels. Excellent knowledge of ice carving, butter and wax sculpturing, vegetable and fruit carving.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Responsible to produce and prepare Decoration items of various materials for use on daily buffet operation.
- Daily placement of Decoration items in the buffet areas in order to ensure maximum positive visual effects.
- Responsible to keep artificial decoration items, used at the buffet areas on daily base, clean and well maintained at all times.
- Responsible that Decoration items produced from fresh vegetables are looking fresh and impressive at all times.
- Responsible to participate in various culinary demonstrations like vegetable carving demo and ice carving demonstration.
- Maintains a high level of productivity, cleanliness and sanitation throughout the entire galley area at all times.
- Works closely and cooperates with superiors, colleagues and subordinates in order to achieve the highest possible passenger satisfaction from the products served.
Hiring requirements:
- Basic Culinary Education and specialized courses for production of decoration items from various materials.
- Ability to understand instructions and to execute them efficiently.
- Ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly.
- Basic Sanitation and Public Health and HACCP Training Certificate.
- Basic Computer user knowledge.
- Ability to accommodate to an eight months on / two months off contract schedule for this onboard position.
- Ability to adjust to, and to work in a multi national environment.A valid passport (minimum 1 year counting from the embarkation date).
- A valid Standards of Training, Certification & Watchkeeping (STCW) certificate.
- Ability to obtain the required visa, depending on the embarkation port.
- Pass Pullmantur pre-employment medical examination.
- Pass a criminal background check.Have a Seaman’s book (desirable).
- Ability to participate in emergency life-saving drills and required training.
