Destinations Assistant (Temporary)

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is part of the international Fred. Olsen organisation and is well known for its quality cruises and the ‘personal’ touch we offer our passengers.

We are currently seeking applicants for the Destinations Assistant (Temporary) onboard a cruise ship.

The Destinations Assistant works within a busy tours office and is required to assist the smooth running of shore excursions. Daily duties include;

• Liaising with local tour operators
• Handling general enquiries
• Processing new bookings and pre booked tours
• Exploring possible new tours in the various ports of call
• Ensure smooth efficient operation to maintain happy passengers

Qualifications

• Previous ship-board experience in a similar role is preferable, but not essential, however to be successful you will require experience/ knowledge of the travel industry.  
• You should enjoy working as part of a team, whilst able to work under own initiative to provide an efficient service to passengers.
• Travelling, problem solving and thinking of new ideas should be challenges you enjoy.
• Fluent spoken and written English is essential for this role.
• Knowledge of other languages is advantageous.
• General travel and geographical knowledge is an important part of the role.
• STCW Basic Safety Training is essential.
