There is a trend for everything to get bigger and busier, and for a cruise to be seen as an alternative to a large luxury resort, with a limitless flurry of activity.
But this is not for us.

In our world, smaller is better, and we believe in keeping the experience on board uncrowded, warm and civilised - treating passengers as guests, like the family run business we are.
It would be easy to follow the trends and go with the crowds. But we never will.

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines is a family run company, well known for our quality cruises and the ‘personal’ touch we offer our guests.

Overseeing preparation and production of all food on-board to be served to both guests and crew taking into consideration dietary, religious and cultural requirements.

As directed by the Executive Chef, to be in charge and to overview a specific part of the galley. Additionally to be trained in order to be able to step up to the Executive Sous Chef position if and when required.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef in all of the below while working towards the same unified common goal of happy guests and happy team
• Responsible for ensuring that all staff under his/her supervision ensures that sufficient coaching is in place for current job performance and future promotion.
• Being on the Galley floor with the team, coaching, tasting, correcting, praising are all key ingredients.
• Responsible for keeping to the set food cost budgets for both crew and guests without affecting the guest and crew experience through quality

Candidates must have relevant industry experience in a similar position.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary and a 2:1 work rotation of three months on board followed by six weeks of leave.
