This ‘someone’ will help manage the technical operation of Scarlet’s Deck and Hotel service areas once onboard… Think plumbing, HVAC, upholstery, carpentry, and refurbishment. While in the shipyard, this ‘someone’ will take part in developing the standard operating procedures & the shipboard asset management system. Sound interesting to you?

In other words, this ‘someone’ needs to know how to Make Ship Happen. Your excellent attention to detail and self-starter mentality means you can think quick on your feet and keep calm when ship gets real. Ultimately, we won’t be able to remember how we got by without you.

What You’ll be Up To:

• Plans all work orders within the hotel and deck departments
• Maintains all of the machinery outside the main auxiliary engine room spaces. Think mechanical hotel equipment, plumbing, laundry machines, galleys and pantries
• Performs repairs as needed
• Partakes in weekly Public Health inspections
• Mentors & coaches teammates
• Overseas the Pool systems: maintain & repair as needed
• Familiar with shipboard systems and attends equipment training courses
• Assists in the development of standard operating procedures and the shipboard asset management system

Superpowers Required:

• Chief Engineer Unlimited COC
• Knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental Protection Management System and MLC requirements
• 3-5 years experience as a Hotel Engineer or 1st Engineer onboard a Cruise Ship
• Knowledge of ISM
• All certificates required by the STCW
• Strong verbal and written communication
