Able Seaman - Belfast

The Company

We are currently working with a market leading Ferry company who have an active need for an Able Seaman join their team.

The Role

As Able Seaman you are responsible to the Master and accountable to the Bosun, where applicable, for:

Assisting in the safe and efficient completion of the duties required by the Chief Officer's standing Work Routines.

Carrying out lookout and general bridge duties as directed.

Carrying out fire and safety patrols as directed.

Assisting in the maintenance of all firefighting, safety and lifesaving equipment.

Attending all statutory fire and safety drills on-board and to assist in training as required by the Master.

You will be required to have the following qualifications

Be Fluent in English

12 months previous experience

STCW Fire Fighting and Fire Prevention

STCW Personal Survival Techniques

STCW Elementary First Aid

STCW Personal Safety & Social Responsibilities

STCW Proficiency in Maritime Security Awareness

The Reward

Salary will be discussed during telephone interview and will depend on experience.

1 week on 1 week off rotations
