We are pleased to announce this very exciting opening on behalf of one of world’s biggest 4* and 5* cruise lines who have an existing fleet of ships and new builds on the way for qualified Light Technicians.

This is a great position for anyone with a passion for working in the water & (wanting to learn about working behind the scenes in) theatre whilst travelling to some of world’s most exciting destinations and gaining valuable life and work experience. KMCC works as a referral source for major cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Bahamas Paradise.

Primary duties include:

  • Your primary job would be Diving support in the Aqua theater during the Aqua shows, rehearsals etc.
  • You would be part of the Entertainment Department working with the other Stage Staff onboard (performing regular Stage Staff duties in the theater(s) and certain other entertainment venues during rehearsals and performances, as well as supporting the entertainment technical staff, group coordinator, Stage & Production Manager and certain other members of the cruise director's management team).
  • This position assembles and disassembles stage equipment and props for all shows and activities.
  • Reads stage layout specifications and blueprints and confers with Stage and Production Manager to determine type and location of sets, props, scenery, lighting – and sound equipment required for specific events.
  • Gathers and transports props and equipment to designated areas throughout the vessel and ports of call.
  • Positions lighting fixtures on and around stage area.

Minimum requirements:

  • PADI Certified Divers with Rescue and First Aid Certification
  • One to two years experience in the assembly and disassembly of state equipment and props.
  • Familiarity of stage productions
  • Background in electrical, technical, light and sound preferred
  • First Aid certificied preferred
