We are seeking candidates for various leadership positions within Youth Activities.

MANAGER, YOUTH ACTIVITIES

JOB OVERVIEW:

Oversee the implementation and operation of the youth product offerings and all onboard youth spaces catering to children between 12 weeks of age to 17 years of age, onboard and/or on Castaway Cay. Responsible for the overall guest and crew experience.  Ensure safe operation of all events and programs.  Maintain overall OJT and ensure initial and ongoing training plans are in place for crew. Accountable for overall Youth Activities budget.  Oversee compliance of all youth areas to Untied States Public Health and Disney standards, ensuring crew are trained and policies and procedures are managed on a daily basis.  Work with ship/shore counterparts to identify and help develop/implement new programs and refresh existing programs.  Represent Youth Activities in all onboard discussions regarding policies and procedures.  Serve as onboard Youth Activities spokesperson for media interviews.  Partner with Cruise Director and onboard leaders to optimize guest flow.  Communicate with Cruise Director and shoreside Entertainment leadership regarding consistency of operation between ships, show quality, crew scheduling, team performance, etc.  See that personnel files, record cards and/or performance reviews are appropriately maintained and conducted.  Maintain onboard succession plan, identifying future growth potential within the Youth Activities team.  See that labor scheduling is efficient and effective.  Communicate with shoreside HR team in regards to future staffing needs.  Provide leadership, feedback, coaching and development, communication, and recognition for the entire Youth Activities team (ranging in size of 55-80 depending upon ship) and all direct reports; direct reports include two Youth Activities Managers.  This position reports to the Cruise Director and has high guest interaction.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

Minimum five years experience in a high-volume child care operation in a recreational or leisure setting. Minimum four years of current or previous management experience in a related field. Proven experience leading and motivating a large team including management of other leaders.  Proven experience managing complex policies and detailed operational procedures.  College degree or related schooling associated with recreation, education, entertainment or related field of study strongly preferred.  Demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing team goals and a proven ability to manage a budget.

YOUTH ACTIVITIES MANAGER

JOB OVERVIEW:

Directly responsible for the implementation and handling of the day-to-day operation for 2-3 youth spaces catering to children between 12 weeks of age to 17 years of age, onboard and/or on Castaway Cay.  Responsible for the guest and crew experience.  Handle guest needs pertaining to Youth Activities.  Ensure safe operation of all events and programs.  Ensure children are safe in our care and secure through daily checks.  Responsible for children’s and/or teen navigator (daily schedule of onboard events/activities). Responsible for producing daily reports.  Assist with initial and ongoing training for crew. Supervise daily line schedules for crew.  Adhere to Youth Activities budget.  Ensure cleanliness of all youth areas to Untied States Public Health and Disney standards, ensuring crew are trained and policies and procedures are managed on a daily basis.  Partner with Purchasing & Logistics to keep stock and supplies in inventory.  Serve as Duty Manager to oversee all youth events ship wide during specified times and on call as needed.  Handle crew related paperwork.  Provide leadership, coaching and development, communication and recognition for all direct reports; Direct reports include: Youth Counselors, Nursery Counselors, Youth Entertainment Hosts, Assistant Youth Activities Manager, and/or Assistant Nursery Manager.  This position reports to the Manager, Youth Activities and has high guest interaction.
