Infection Control Officer (Cruise) – Worldwide

I am working with one of the major cruise lines and have a position available as an Infection Control Officer onboard. Reporting directly to the Staff Captain, you will be responsible for the coordination and execution of the company’s shipboard Infection Prevention and Control Program.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure the company’s public health and infectious disease standards are met
• Supervision of immunization programs
• Ensure proper use of PPE
• Oversee the Vessel Sanitation Program
• Perform risk assessments
• Conduct outbreak investigations
• Ensure temperature check data is uploaded
• Oversee Medical Centre cleaning protocols and training of hospital cleaners
• Review protocols with pier coordinators ensuring embarkation processes are in line with company policy
• Oversee the execution of the isolation and quarantine plan
• Plan and deliver public health awareness training to crew
• Other job-related duties assigned by the Senior Doctor or Public Health Manager

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing, Medical Technology, Microbiology OR Master’s Degree in Nursing, Epidemiology or Public Health equivalent
• Current Certificate in Infection Control
• Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.
• Excellent command of the English language include reading, writing and speaking

• Single Cabin
• 4 months on and 2 months off
• Company pays for your uniform, all meals while onboard and travel to and from the ship
