Environmental Engineer (Cruise) – Worldwide

Navis Consulting are currently looking for an Environmental Engineer to join our client’s fleet of Cruise Vessels on a permanent basis. The purpose of this role is to ensure environmental compliance of vessel in line with all company, national and international regulations by means of audits, inspections, guidance, training and maintenance of all related equipment.

Main Tasks & Activities:

Ensure environmental compliance with procedures and documentation of operations for, and perform maintenance on the following systems:
Sewage and Grey water systems, including advanced wastewater treatment plants (in co-ordination with 1st Hotel Engineer and Staff Chief Engineer);
Bilge water treatment system, including 15ppm oily water separator (in co-ordination with Staff Chief Engineer).
Potable water system, including halogenation equipment (in co-ordination with Staff Chief Engineer, Staff Captain and 1st Hotel Engineer).
Sludge system, including internal and external transfer, and incineration (in co-ordination with Staff Chief Engineer)
Recreational water system halogenation, including swimming pools, Jacuzzis, spa equipment and saunas (in co-ordination with Staff Captain and 1st Hotel Engineer).
Food waste pulping system and discharges.

Experience/Skills required

• Previous shipboard experience in the role of Environmental Engineer, preferably with previous passenger ship experience.
• The ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly.
• Knowledge of AMOS, Fidelio and Environmental awareness are essential.
• STCW Basic Training
