2nd Engineer / PONANT CRUISES

We are looking for 2ND ENGINEER for PONANT cruises

Embarkation Agust/2021

Vessel - TBC

Contract 4 months +/-1

Salary in Euros/per month

As Engine Officer, he/she:

- Follows the Chief Engineer's standing orders.
- Assists in the execution of maintenance as required by the BASS system / Maintenance Manual under the direction of the First Engineer.
- Records the maintenance operations & other appropriate jobs in BASS system.
- Updates his/her spare parts inventory, and suggest orders to Chief Engineer.
- Assists in maintaining all areas of the engine room or working area in a clean and safe condition.
- Reports to the Chief Engineer / First Engineer any non-conformities or hazardous occurrences observed in the course of his duties.
- Ensure that all operational, safety, security & environmental objectives are met (EPI, pollution prevention, risk assessment, hazardous work permits…)
- Send to Chief Engineer a cruise job report at each end of cruise.
- Performs any additional duties as may be required by the Master or the Chief Engineer.

As Second Engineer:
He/she is alone on duty, but can request cadet, motormen, fitter and wiper help agreed by the First engineer. As Second Engineer he/she has particular responsibility of the maintenance of the following equipment:

* Air compressors 7 and 30b
* Diving compressor (excluding air quality and bottles)
* Rule and daily bilge system, including valves and pumps
* Seawater fire system including valves and pumps, in accordance with the safety officer.
* Sludge system and management.
* Oily water management (transfer and discharge)
* Oily bilge water separator ( maintenance and record operation paramaters)
* Main boilers (including hot well, hot well analysis and boiler water analysis and treatment)
* Exhaust gas boilers and daily soot blowing.
* Analysis of feed and distillated waters.
* Steam system regulation and heating system.
* Remotes valves.
* Stabilizers.
* Heeling and ballast system (excluding transfers operation)
