Explore Ashore Assistant

YOUR ROLE:

The Explore Ashore Assistant is responsible for ensuring the most memorable experiences are delivered to all guests by providing a friendly, courteous and professional service. He/she is responsible for leading excursions according to Health and Safety regulations.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with shore-side operation.
  • Perform all onboard Explore Ashore Assistant duties.
  • Actively participate as a ‘Tour Escort’.
  • Promote the product and assist with securing revenue opportunities.
  • Assist with the production of all guest related literature.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the MXP system.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the operation of each individual voyage.
  • Assist with excursion operations, private arrangements and all independent requests.
  • Manage the Escort operation and training.
  • Manage the relationship with the destination lecturers.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all guests onboard.
  • Ensure all guest service and expectation levels are maintained.
  • Maintain positive relationship with all departments and staff onboard.
  • Perform duties as per the onboard ‘rounds & routines’ schedules.
  • Carry out shipboard safety role, as per onboard crew muster duties.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Attend management meetings as required.
  • Attend any safety, hospitality or job‐related training as required and scheduled by the ship’s command or immediate supervisors, including port‐manning rotation.
  • To socialise, host and escort guests.
  • Perform social evening duties.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Have extensive travel experience or knowledge of the travel industry, ideally 4/5*.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Passionate about people and able to handle guest complaints with a smile.
  • All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
