We are looking for an experienced, energetic and customer-oriented boutique manager to oversee our daily boutique operations on the island. Duties include but are not limited to administrative tasks, sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices, sourcing and managing stock, following up shipments, purchase orders, training staff, monitoring inventory levels, developing business and sales strategies and maintaining the store's market position.

This position is an island based live-in position in the British Virgin Islands. The resort is open 10 month a year and closes for 2 months during which prolonged leave may be taken.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent service with attention to detail and a high level of customer communication to ensure guest satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Constantly source for inspiration and new suppliers/merchandise that go along with Cooper Islands ethos of quality and sustainability
  • Manage & organise promotions and special events
  • Maintain display and appearance of all boutique stock
  • Ensure all related boutique areas are well maintained and presented
  • Lead, train and motivate the sales team to exceed service standards and sales targets
  • Ensure store compliance with health and safety standards
  • Prepare detailed reports on buying trends, customer requirements and profits
  • Oversee daily cash flow and cash-up procedures
  • Handle inventory, labelling and pricing 
  • Ensure the shop opens and closes in time and related procedures are being adhered to
  • Respond to customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner
  • Strong knowledge in Yellow Dog and Micros POS advantageous

Requirements:

  • Excellent skills in sales and upselling
  • Strong retail brand management and OBM background advantageous
  • Experience in shop design and decor advantageous
  • Degree in business administration or enhanced business management skills preferred
  • Minimum 3 years managerial or senior experience in a busy luxury retail environment
  • High proficiency in POS, Cash-Up, Yellow Dog
  • Strong stock management/inventory skills required (EOM reports)
  • Outgoing, friendly with outstanding communications skills
  • Good problem solving skills, multi-tasking ability, diligence adn attention to detail.

Language Requirements

Good knowledge of the English language is required.
