Ventilation Officer (Cruise) - Worldwide

Role Summary:

Manage and maintain the ship’s ventilation, main AC water chillier systems and domestic refrigeration plant to ensure a safe, reliable and efficient operation.

Primary Responsibility of the Role:

Manage, monitor, and contribute to the development of the ventilation team. Respond to defects quickly, planning and prioritising work and supervising all maintenance to ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in accordance with all current safety and company regulations. Support the SETO in the maintenance and delivery of the asset management plan to ensure the ship technically meets the needs of the business. Maintain the environmental and health records as required.

Liaise with contractors onboard to ensure all work is completed correctly and develop and maintain good working relationships with Officers and shoreside, keeping the office updated with priorities and issues onboard to enable the correct support to be provided.

Person Specification:

  • Relevant refrigeration qualification ie City & Guilds or NVQ3 desirable
  • Solid proven experience of working within the refrigeration industry desirable
  • Ventilation experience desirable
  • Current and up to date experience of the cruise industry
  • Good command of English
  • Valid ENG1 medical certificate or equivalent for the duration of each voyage
