Chief Security Officer

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines – a family run company well known for quality cruises on modestly sized vessels and for the personal touch we offer our guests, that are predominantly from the UK and many of whom return year after year.

We are currently looking to recruit experienced Chief Security Officer to work on board of our vessels.

To be considered for this role, you would need but not limited to:

• Previous cruise ship experience in the role of Chief Security Officer;
• The ability to take overall responsibility for the security of the vessel, the ship’s passengers and crew;
• Experience in ensuring compliance with ISPS code and other regulatory requirements.
• To be competent in security duties and supervision, following strict company and regulatory policies;
• Familiar with security related equipment;
• The ability to work independently and as an effective member of a small team - experience as head of security essential;
• Strong management skills, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Must possess the ability to read, write and speak English clearly and distinctly;
• Experience of evidence preservation techniques and previous military or police background will be an advantage.
• Candidates must hold the following valid STCW certification:
  • Ship Security Officer license (A-VI/5);
  • Advanced Firefighting (A-VI/3);
  • STCW Basic Safety Training (A-VI/1);
  • Crisis Management and Human Behaviour (A-V/2);
  • PSCRB (A-VI/2).
