Job Summary:
The positions of Kitchen Food Driver require liaising with the Executive Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine and Order Takers on all operational needs for the Catering department and ensuring that all Service, Food preparation and production is carried out to the highest standard for the Family and guest total satisfaction, and compliance with ISO & HACCP regulations.
Qualifications Required:
- Clean driving license.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience as a Driver.
- Experience in a 5-star property, Private Residence or Stated Restaurant environments.
- Should possess strong interpersonal skills and basic written and spoken English. Have an ability to make decisions at the appropriate time and fully aware of the happenings around.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide transportation for all Items and equipment for the culinary department, according to HACCP requirements and the Food and Safety Officers.
- Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations and be flexible as always contactable as a lot of driving requests will be last minute.
- Work closely with the Order taker and Food Safety to insure safe and secure delivery and transportation of items for the culinary department.
- Ensure Cleaning and sanitization of the vehicle and any servicing /maintenance is reported to management.
- Schedule annual vehicle examination for service vehicles with the Transportation Department.
- Determine when and what kind of maintenance the vehicle needs, keep track of general maintenance schedules, especially car tire condition.
- Ensure sound running of the vehicles assigned and arrange minor repairs where necessary.
- Check oil and tires properly and keep the service vehicles in clean condition, both inside and outside.
- Listen carefully to instructions given by senior staff and carry out duties in a responsible timely manner without hesitation.
- You will thrive in a fast-paced busy environment, seizing opportunities to assist your team and drive them towards ongoing service improvement.
- Be vigilant for any hazards, alerting a manager as necessary.
- Always maintain good personal hygiene.
- Report for duty on time and in the correct uniform.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship, in a 4/5* Hotel or in an Upscale Restaurant.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
