New Captain sought for Extreme E’s floating paddock – the St Helena
Wilson Ship Management are recruiting for an extremely sought-after role as Captain of MV St Helena, joining her in her exciting endeavours supporting the Extreme E racing series.

As such positions arise extremely rarely, finding the strongest candidate to take on this role is of upmost importance.

The chosen candidate will have a strong background in commercial shipping with command experience on both passenger and cargo vessels. As the ship’s itinerary includes many remote locations worldwide, the preferred candidate must demonstrate experience in line with this.

The Candidate should be prepared to deal with and meet the demands of both the management company and the directors of the race series whilst running the vessel to the highest possible standards.

The position offers an industry leading salary with full rotation and the chance to work in and exciting, fast paced environment.

About the St Helena
St Helena is the floating paddock for the new Extreme E global race championship which started early 2021.

The championship promotes sustainability and the adoption of electric vehicles to help protect the planet.

St Helena is used to transport the championship’s freight and infrastructure, including vehicles, to the nearest port in each race locations.

The ship is currently in Chile for the September race, before moving on to Montevideo for the November Uruguay race.

The 2023 schedule still to be confirmed but promises to take the vessel to exciting and varied locations around the globe.
