Faststream is hiring for a Senior Analyst, Fuel and Energy
Role - Senior Analyst, Fuel and EnergyLocation - Preference Miami, would consider remote for the right candidate.
We are seeking a Fuel and Energy Senior Analyst to be responsible for creating fuel budgets for the fleets. Develop fuel modelling tools and provide analytical insights to optimize fleet fuel consumption. Responsible for ensuring accuracy of fuel consumption reporting as per regulatory standards and as outlined in vessel’s Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans. Construct fuel consumption reports, Power BI dashboards for weekly performance reports and for management and ship senior management review. Liaise with other departments for fuel consumption analysis and vessel performance improvement.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for creating fuel budgets and forecasts for the fleets.
- Develop fuel modelling tools and provide analytical insights to optimize fleet fuel consumption
- Responsible for providing weekly and monthly fuel performance reports with variance explanations
- Attend monthly fuel & energy performance meetings with ships and technical operations
- Construct fuel consumption reports, Power BI dashboards and conduct variance analysis for monthly fuel finance close procedures
- Ensuring Accuracy of fuel consumption reporting as per regulatory standards and as outlined in vessel’s Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plans
- Assist in implementation of SEEMP Part 1 and 2 (DCS / MRV reporting)
- Visualize / Perform analysis of fuel consumption, fuel bunkering & related KPIs and other ad-hoc analysis depending on department needs
- Less than 25% with shipboard travel likely
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
- Master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in relevant role (i.e., energy management, marine operations, technical projects or fuel & energy consumption)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI or Tableau, Numerical modeling tools, Asset management software
- 2-3 years of experience in energy management, fuel & energy consumption and / or marine operations)
- Basic knowledge of marine fuels & bunkering operations, shipboard operations, energy efficiency & numerical modeling
- Strong knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques
- Advanced proficiency in excel
- Ability to handle large quantities of data
- Coding background in Python or any other language is a plus
